Routine inspection

Turbo are equipped with certain protections and measurings, depending on the level of technological development in the year of their production, which record the alterations in the course of operation. The routine inspection involves the summing up of the basic observations, changes in operation and measurings on the basic equipment. It can be divided into:

  • Review of the events in the course of operation
  • Inspection of the endwindings status
  • Inspection of the status of the stator windings water chamber
  • Inspection of the cooler status
  • Inspection of the bearings and sleeves status
  • Inspection of the hydrogen seals status
  • Inspection of the slip ring and the brush supports’ status
  • Inspection of the ventilator status
  • Electrical tests
  • Nondestructive testing
  • Inspection of the accessory equipment and the generator sealing

To perform this inspection, it is necessary to dismantle the bearing covers, the protective caps and the winding deflectors.
